Where Does Your Turf Come From?

Our synthetic grass starts life right here in the USA. Southwest Greens is part of Shaw Industries (a Berkshire Hathaway company), and each turf strand is crafted in Shaw’s U.S. factories. Our modern production lines feature automation, Lean/Six Sigma oversight, and internal testing labs to achieve industry-leading performance standards. When you arrange an artificial turf installation with Southwest Greens, you can trust that you’re getting long-lasting, American-made grass.
American Manufacturing: We use Shaw’s U.S. plants (ours is in Dalton, GA) for turf production. Ongoing upgrades in Shaw’s factories maintain fiber precision and quality.
Vertical Quality Control: As part of Shaw, we control each stage of turf creation. That lets us ensure steady color and pile consistency, faster response for any warranty or service issue, and detailed traceability for faster issue resolution.
Rigorously Tested: Before any turf is delivered, it’s proven in Shaw’s labs and fields. We use a 13,000 sq. ft. sports science lab and over 18,000 sq. ft. of outdoor test plots to mimic extended real-world conditions. Blades are tested for colorfastness, durability, and ball/athlete interactions, so your turf remains natural-looking and durable over time.
CUTTING-EDGE INNOVATION
We constantly improve our turf to be more natural-looking and durable. Some of our latest breakthroughs include:
Bolt™ Fiber (High-Performance: This proprietary Bolt fiber features a patented lightning-bolt shape. It resists flattening and recovers quickly, out-performing wear standards by over 2x. Its curved structure prevents glossiness, giving the lawn a low-luster, lifelike appearance.
HydroChill® Cooling: We offer HydroChill® infill beads that can cool your turf by 30–50°F. This passive cooling system is perfect for warm-weather lawns and putting greens, keeping the surface cool for people and pets alike.
Pet-Friendly Drainage: Our pet turf products are designed for rapid waste removal and odor resistance. No more muddy paw prints indoors. And the way our artificial grass naturally sheds pet waste prevents odor buildup and dead patches.
Creaturf™ Personalization: Want your turf to match your brand, mascot, or personality? Our Creaturf™ program lets you add graphics, emblems, or colored elements. From branded backyard putting greens to distinctive pet turf, this capability lets you design without limits.
PERSONALIZED TO YOU
We gather feedback from users, golf pros, and designers to ensure our artificial turf perform in real settings. Feedback from golfers prompted a new “spring green” color option for tee turf that blends seamlessly with fairways. Little details like this have made our products the top choice by Las Vegas pro players, homeowners, and landscape architects alike.
We also provide specialized solutions for every type of space — backyard putting greens, golf courses, pet areas, playgrounds, commercial lawns, game courts.
We take fake grass installation seriously. Done right, it’s a fine art. Our synthetic turf replicates real course playability. That’s why pros like Jack Nicklaus and Annika Sörenstam endorse Southwest Greens products. And because we’re supported by Shaw’s industry-leading portfolio, we can adjust fibers, infill, or pile height to your specs.
LOOKING AHEAD: 2026 AND BEYOND
At Southwest Greens, we never stop innovating. Keep an eye out in 2026 for exciting new turf developments! Shaw Sports Turf revealed that customers will help pick upcoming field designs and that a patented “Game ON” synthetic turf (made in Calhoun, GA) will launch in 2026.
This playful spirit and technology will trickle down to landscaping products soon. We can’t share all the info now, but you can be confident, our R&D team is hard at work on the next generation of artificial grass.
Upcoming releases will blend innovation and customer insight, so your next Southwest Greens lawn or putting green will be better than ever.
